As a major step towards the Digital
India Program, Indian Railways decided to start Paperless unreserved ticketing
services through Mobile phones.
Following is the list of new services.
1)
Paperless
unreserved ticket for Mumbai Suburban Section on Central Railway,
2) Paperless Season Tickets on mobile phones on Central, Western & Northern Railway (New Delhi-Palwal Section).
3) Paperless Platform Tickets at CST Mumbai, Dadar, Panvel, Thane and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus on CR; Mumbai Central, Borivali, Andheri, Dadar, Vasai Road and Bandra on WR & New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin on NR.
4) Train Enquiry Mobile Application on iOS platform
This is
the new Paperless unreserved ticketing service introduced by the Railways, to use
this service user need to download the mobile application ‘UTS on mobile’. With
the help of mobile application user can book ticket & save time of waiting
in a big queues. Going paperless means it will also help to save
environment.
Earlier
introduced ‘UTS on mobile’ application was for suburban journey tickets in
Mumbai, It was mandatory to have ticket printout. But now, taking a major step ahead
the paperless ticket is now introduced. User need to load money on R-wallet
from any UTS counter or from online on www.utsonmobile.indianrail.gov.in,
user can load money in R-wallet in range of Rs.100 to Rs.5000, Once the ticket
is booked on Mobile user can show image of booked ticket.
